A Brief History of YA

Epic Reads is one of the best and most creative literary Youtube channels out there. Of course it helps that they have the power of Harper Collins behind them, but regardless they do some amazing stuff. If you have not taken a look at some of their book trailers that are done in the same style as the video below you should definitely check them out (I recommend Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson). We were actually lucky enough to see where they tape some of their segments when we were given a tour of Harper HQ. It is a nice little office set aside in the publicity department. Have camera will vlog! The following video is snappy, informative, and all around interesting. It showcases the evolution of YA lit and how the first books for teens were actually published for adults! Over the last forty plus years these books have evolved becoming more sophisticated and varying in theme and continue to do so today.
