May the 4th Be With You

Yes Jedi masters it is the day you have all been waiting for... MAY 4TH! It is the punniest day of the year for any Star Wars enthusiast. The webpage http://www.starwars.com/may-the-4th reports,
"Say 'May the 4th Be With You' out loud and you’ll hear the pun that Star Wars fans worldwide have turned into a rallying cry to proclaim their love of the saga. It’s the worldwide day to say “May the Force be with you” to all, and celebrate the beloved Star Wars story that binds our galaxy together." The page even offers the hashtag #StarWarsDay to share your Star Wars pride on social media. The site even compiles different deals that are being given on Star Wars merchandise and digital media. Of course for us librarians this is a chance to show off the Star Wars inspired books that we have on our shelves!

Some of our favorites are:

1. 2. 3.

1. The Origami Yoda Series by Tom Angleberger

2. Star Wars: Jedi Academy Series by Jeffrey Brown

3. William Shakespeare's Star Wars Series by Ian Doescher

What are some of your favorite books that have the force? Are you doing anything special at your library for the those that carry lightsabers? If you are be sure to let us know!
