REVIEW: What's Your Favorite Animal?

What's Your Favorite Animal? is an artistic partnership with Eric Carle and 14 beloved illustrators who share their favorite animal and why it earned that distinction. This well-crafted book is not only illustrated beautifully, showcasing a variety of different art styles, but what I also love about it is that it gives you a peek inside each artist's life and personality (with some laughs too). Plus, all of the royalties from the sale of this book are going to benefit The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts. Eric Carle and Friends include: Nick Bruel, Eric Carle, Lucy Cousins, Susan Jeffers, Steven Kellogg, Jon Klassen, Tom Lichtenheld, Peter McCarty, Chris Raschka, Peter Sis, Lane Smith, Erin Stead, Rosemary Wells, and Mo Willems. The original artwork will be exhibited at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art through the end of August 2014.

In addition, to celebrate this new book, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is accepting submissions for a digital exhibition of original artwork from people of all ages from all over the world depicting your favorite animal. See below for submission and image guidelines. To view the What's Your Favorite Animal? online exhibition click here.
