National Library Week is Next Week

Celebrate libraries during National Library Week taking place April 10th - 16th!

"This year's National Library Week theme is Libraries Transform, reminding all Americans that today’s libraries are not just about what we have for people, but what we do for and with people. Increasingly, libraries are places of creativity where people can meet to share a hobby, use a 3D printer, edit a video, or use software to record their own music. Libraries offer access to the tools and technology and training essential to the economic and cultural lives of their communities.
Honorary Chair for National Library Week 2016 is Gene Luen Yang, award-winning graphic novelist and the 2016-2017 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. His 2006 book, "American Born Chinese," was the first graphic novel to be a finalist for a National Book Award and the first to win the American Library Association’s Printz Award. It also won an Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album. Learn more at geneyang.com"

There are a couple of different ways for librarians and patrons to get involved. Check out the website for social media support as well as in-library activities to run with your patrons! For all that and more go here: http://www.ilovelibraries.org/national-library-week
