Commack's "I matter" Reception

After months of photo taking, peer sessions, fund raising, and shopping center visits with their super pumped-up lime green shopping cart all of Commack Public Library's hard work has come to fruition. Congratulations to the Head of Young Adult Services Joanne Albano and her amazing group of teens! Their pictures and "I matter" statements are now hanging proudly in the windows of the Commack Public Library. The group held the reception for their project last Friday November 14th to celebrate their wonderful achievement. The library was decked out in green and purple and many were in attendance. Rob Goldman, the founder of the project, and Assemblymen Andrew Raia and Chad Lupinacci, along with library director Laurie Rosenthal and President of the Board of Trustees Steve Hartman were there to celebrate this wonderful project. We can all be inspired by the photos and the reasons why these teens matter!
