On September 23rd Scott Westerfeld's newest book Afterworlds will be released, and it is actually two novels in one. Darcy Patel is moving to New York and rewriting her novel which is set to be published. In alternating chapters read Darcy's contemporary story and then the words of the fantasy novel she is writing. See how her real life influences the rewrite of the characters in her book. At the Simon & Schuster preview I attended this past Tuesday Westerfeld says that he wrote the book the way it is meant to be read which is in these every-other chapters. He also said that Afterworlds borders on Young Adult and New Adult seeing that his main character Darcy is eighteen and she is writing a YA novel. He also shared the above trailer!
