Team Yawesome
The Youth Services Department of SCLS serves the children and teen departments of the 54 member libraries in Suffolk County. Some of the services we provide:
- Quarterly department head meetings for both children and teen department heads
- Monthly training workshops on a wide variety of topics, including early literacy, collection development services, community service for teens, how to host specialized events for teen audiences, summer reading club trainings, and more.
- Suffolk County's annual Performer's Showcase
- Teen Galley Group
- Multiple social media platforms to locate resources and information (Facebook, Goodreads, Pinterest, Twitter)
- Bi-annual Suffolk Literature Conference for children and teen librarians
- Authors Unlimited
- Annual Battle of the Books for teen participants from member libraries
- Ebook ordering for the county
- Grant opportunities
